Waste

In the broad category of waste, there is domestic waste (MSW), commercial waste, waste from differentiated collection, industrial waste and bulk and RDF.

Household waste (MSW) is received daily at the receiving centres where Camoter International has sold and assists the machines. This type of waste requires specific attention to guarantee both the reduction of large volumes of materials and the continuity of the selection and disposal processes.

Commercial waste, is waste products from farming, manufacturing and trade, i.e. all those non-dangerous products that, for intrinsic properties are assimilated to urban waste. For example, packaging and processing scraps.

Industrial waste and bulk present handling problems and volumetric reduction characteristics that vary from material to material. Volumes are typically large for the best return on investment.

With the Italian Legal Degree 205/2010*, the term CSS (combustibile solido secondario) / RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) was introduced, repealing the previous definition of CDR (combustible refuse). The CSS (RDF) is produced by the processing of municipal and non municipal waste (the so-called special or commercial waste) and non hazardous waste. The CSS is in either a combustible form (CSS-R), or non-combustible, depending on the physical/chemical characteristics and the legal classification. The CSS-R itself is a new product, while the non-combustible part maintains the status of waste and is treated as such.

The CSS (RDF) production process requires the operations of shredding and the volume reduction of the material, the electromagnetic iron removal and separation of non-ferrous metals, the possible dehumidification and stabilization of the organic parts, the removal of the aggregates (such as stones, glass, sand, etc …) and possible additional treatments (such as drying, densification and pelletizing), as required by combustion plants. Given the high calorific value, the CSS (RDF), in its various sizes and final forms, is used in incinerators, cement factories, steel plants and thermoelectric power plants.

For waste from domestic recycling, such as plastic, glass, paper and cardboard, aluminium and cans, Camoter International dedicates the correct technologies for their treatment.
